nathanisms

A couple weeks ago, Joylyn received an invitation to her best friends birthday party at our community pool. Nathan and Joylyn love to draw and play pretend, so it didn\'t surprise me that I overheard them talking about making their own invitations to their birthday party. From the kitchen, I told them that their invites were just pretend because their birthday wasn\'t until October. They said yes they knew, but were just copying like Brooklyn\'s invitation. So I kept making dinner and didn\'t think anything of it.
Fast forward 2 days. We woke up and got all the older kids out the door to school. I had a meeting at the school, so Charlie finished getting Nate ready while I got in the shower. Nates ride came to pick him up as I got out of the shower and I overheard her asking him what all the envelopes were for? It wasn\'t until after she drove away, that I realized he was bringing his "invitations" to his friends at school. (I had never seen them, so I had no clue what they said or if they were just copies of the invite Joylyn had received). I quickly called his teacher, miss Trina, to ask her to run interference.
Luckily, he had just drawn pictures for all his friends and called them invitations. We got a good laugh out of this alone.
But fast forward til today when I got an email from Miss Trina with another Nathanism.

She had heard him talking to one of the boys about his party and the boy said, "but my mom doesn\'t know where your house is."
Nathan\'s response? "your mom knows! All moms know where houses are."

That\'s a lot of faith in us moms. I love it!

Day 15: Sunday january 15, 2012

Last night before going to the temple the Bishop dropped by to release me from my calling as the first counselor in the Young Women organization. He said that I wouldn\'t be long without a calling and that I may be getting a call first thing on Sunday morning.
Not once did I think that I would be released and not called back into YW, until Sunday morning when the call didn\'t come. I knew if I didn\'t receive a call that I wouldn\'t be in the YW organization anymore.
I cried a little, but sucked it up because it was a silly reason to cry.
However, when we got to church and the bishop started the releasings and new callings I couldn\'t control my emotions. I just cried.
I\'ve only been in young women for one year, but that year was a lot of time and energy put into these girls of mine. They become my girls. I love them like my own kids (one of them really is).
I\'m sad that I won\'t see them every Wednesday night and every Sunday. I\'m sad that I don\'t get to hear their crazy comments in class or watch their personalities grow and shine, the way you do as a leader.
I am way excited for them and the changes with the new leaders. They are some amazing women. However, I will miss them dearly.

these are my girls

I love all my girls. Even the ones that moved away. :(

Day 14: Saturday January 14, 2012

Had a photo shoot in the morning that I had to do over when I lost all the first shoots photos when my computer crashed. This one turned out much better anyway.
Then edited photos and got ready to go to the temple with friends for ward temple night.
After the temple we went to Uncle Julio\'s. One of my Favorite Mexican places here. It was such a good make up for the crappy night before. I love going to the temple and especially when I can go with friends and hang out afterward.

Day 13: Friday the 13th, 2012

Charlie and I went out to dinner. Charlie chose Chuy\'s Mexican restaurant. It was a pretty bad experience. Long wait. Lame front desk lady (looked at me like I was crazy when I walked up with the little buzzing pager thing they give you...I honestly wondered if she knew how the whole restaurant deal worked). Our waiter was amazing and the coke was the best that I\'ve had since moving to Texas. But the food was either mediocre or just plain yuck. How do you mess up guacamole?
Anyway. We rented Cowboys and Aliens and went home and ate peanut butter chocolate pie.
We saw this truck on our way home. Thought it was pretty cool.

Day 12: Thursday, January 12, 2012

My computer crashed a couple weeks ago. We finally got it up and running and info restored. When I finally went to burn a CD of a photoshoot, half the pictures were
missing.
Then trying to update PTA books, I had to load the software again which cancelled all the current info on it. Which means I need to re input all the information for this year.
Through all this, Nathan kept me laughing; Silly faces and stories about jet ski completions he\'s in (but not really).

Day 11: Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Today I am trying to get caught up on PTA taxes. The past 4 years of going back and documenting finances that weren\'t taken care of. So frustrating. But it\'s almost done and then we can get back to the every day business of PTA.

Day 10: Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Today was pretty slow. Slept in due to a headache that keeps coming back. Then went to the store with Nathan.
Tonight was a temple trip with the youth. I like going with the youth.

Day 9: Monday, January 9, 2012

Today I woke up with a headache. Ran for 30 minutes and then paid bills. Later Nate had an eye doctor appointment. He has 20/25 vision in one eye and 20/20 in the other. This is Nate chilling at the doctors office and playing on his iPod he got for Christmas.

Day 8: Sunday, January 8, 2012

Today I had another headache. I stayed home from church and rested. I did feel a little better later, so I made scones, eggs, sausage, soda, and homemade donuts for dinner. It was yummy.

Day 7: Saturday, January 7, 2012

Not much happened Saturday. I had a major headache so we lazed around, watched tv and did a little cleaning.
This is the little guy on my nightstand that wears my glasses while I\'m not.

Day 6: Friday, January 6, 2012

Tonight we went out with Marcy and Bryon Mecham. We went to Blue Goose for dinner and ran into Kathy

Day 5:

This is what I did while Charlie started his first day of school with BYU Idaho.

Day 4:

This was my favorite part of the day. Snuggling on the couch with my favorite lil\' boy watching Diego.

Day 3:

Another goal for me this year is to run a 5K. I wish my first one could be run somewhere like this. It\'s beautiful.

Day 2:

We had Gary

Day 1:

Trying to do 365 photos for the year. I already started on FB. Now to just update my blog.

This is a goal, for me to read this book again this year.

How bad am I?

I started last year, but didn't even make it through February. I'd like to think that I was just having such a good time that I couldn't blog, but it was quite the opposite. 2011 was rough for us. Both grandparents passed away within a month of eachother, lots is illness, and crazy schedules.
However, I'm pretty sure 2012 is going to be better for us. Day 9 and so far so good.
